  • up at 6 – calm, clear, moonlit morning – temp: 60
  • after breakfast, I went for a 3 mile bike ride – beautiful morning
  • J&D went to church at the hall
  • Texas snow – what is it? – nobody guessed it correctly – before harvesting the (sugar) cane fields, they burn the dead leaves across the whole field (and that’s why you see so much gray dust coming up from those pictures of the cane harvesters) – ash from that burning travels for miles and if you’re nearby, it falls on you – so that picture of Texas snow is burnt cane leaves ash – whoda thunk – they burnt several fields within 5 miles of our place and the wind was just right so that it fell on us – that’s what’s in the picture
  • made a grocery run to H-E-B and then to Gordita Dona Tota for lunch (can someone translate for us?) – it was good
  • this afternoon we spent a couple hours in the hall setting up the stage backdrop that Candy & Diane designed for the Style Show tomorrow
  • then while I napped, J&D went swimming
  • this evening Diane made a delicous chili dinner for Dan, Candy, me, Jim, & Diane
  • and Irene has had a good day – several of us have been over to see her – she’s in good spirits and the healing has bugun
  • and after the Super Bowl game we all worked in the hall decorating & setting up tables till 11 in preparation for the Style Show tomorrow – theme: Color My World

  • I’ll get some clearer pictures tomorrow when they have the lights on – Sorry

5 degrees here this morning. Got a couple of inches of REAL fluffy white snow last night (not that Texas crap).
Am I the only one who reads this blog? Where are all you other posters???

I started typing out a long explanation about the translation and then I lost it. Suffice to say it means something like little fat aunt or something about all plump women.
